Paul Tooker’s career as a music educator spans 30 years and his teaching and conducting has reached students on the elementary school, middle school, high school, and college levels. Since 2000, he has been the Band Director at Fox Lane High School where he directs a wind ensemble, two concert bands, pep band, and jazz band. Prior to teaching in the Bedford Central Schools, he was the Band Director at Ossining High School in Westchester County, and Coordinator of Performing & Visual Arts at Curtis High School in New York City. Dr. Tooker holds a Doctor of Education degree from Teachers College, Columbia University; and he earned both a Bachelor of Music degree in performance and a Master of Music degree in music education from the Manhattan School of Music.
Heather Kranz, K-12 Coordinator for Visual Arts Heather Kranz started her career as an art educator in Bedford and has worked to develop the quality, depth and breadth of the visual art experience for students at Fox Lane High School during that time. Since 1992, she has fostered the growth of the Ceramics, Studio Art, and the Advanced Placement Art programs at the high school, has written curriculum and grants, has partnered with local museums, participated in professional development opportunities in both art making and art education, and helped to establish a district-wide art gallery. Outside of class, she has led the Art Club, Fire and ice art and literary magazine, and is a trained mentor for new teaching staff. Ms. Kranz holds a Masters of Art Education degree from Teachers College, Columbia University; and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Art from Skidmore College.
