BCSD ELEMENTARY VISUAL ARTS PROGRAM
The goal of the elementary art program is to to promote a foundation for understanding, creating and valuing art in a fun, relaxed environment.  The program provides opportunities for creativity and self-expression while developing critical thinking skills.Students are encouraged to explore a variety of materials and art forms. Historical and contemporary masterpieces are used  to promote understanding.  Interdisciplinary curriculum is very important on the elementary level.  Units of study in art are often developed in conjunction with classroom curriculum in order to teach to the whole child.  At each grade level, art activities are aligned with the NYS Visual Art Standards.
