The Wonders of Hatching Chicks in 1st Grade!!

FRESH APPLE CIDER AT MKES!!!

Congratulations to Kailen from
class 5R who took first place in the Westchester Division of the Spring, 2013
Stock Market Game. Kailen competed against 49 other teams in
Westchester County. With a simulated budget of $100,000 to invest in this
10-week game, she earned a total return of more than 7%. We are so proud of
Kailen’s success in this investment simulation.

3rd Annual MKES 5K

third annual MKES 5K was a huge success! It was a wonderful
day for our students, staff, and families and we had a great turnout! Over
200 runners and volunteers attended the event. The $2,000 raised
will benefit the MKES Community Garden, The Pipeline Program, as well

essay on the American Revolution, Ms. Lindsay's and Ms. French's fifth
graders decided to express their opinions in a live debate!
Their challenge was to debate whether or not to join the Patriot cause or to
stay true to England and remain a Loyalist.

2-Martinez Scientists!

Mrs. Martinez' second grade class has been learning about different tools in science. We just performed an experiment that measures the temperature of water using a thermometer. We measured hot and cold water temperatures using Fahrenheit (degrees) and Celsius tools and compared the temperatures.
