We are a diverse seven-school district located in Westchester County, an easy drive or train ride away from New York City. Serving approximately 3,599 students, we are located in an area that allows students to tend to lush gardens, explore scenic trails and visit historic landmarks. We are grateful to be supported by a variety of parent and community organizations including PTOs, The Foundation for Bedford Schools and Booster clubs.

BCSD serves Mount Kisco, Bedford, Bedford Hills, Pound Ridge, and portions of New Castle and North Castle, NY. We have five elementary schools (Bedford Hills Elementary, Bedford Village Elementary, Mount Kisco Elementary, Pound Ridge Elementary, and West Patent Elementary), a middle school (Fox Lane Middle School) and a high school (Fox Lane High School).

We recognize each child as an individual with the potential to achieve their personal best. We are committed to guiding our students on their unique educational journeys by nurturing their abilities and encouraging a growth mindset while challenging and supporting their academic development and fostering their social-emotional and physical well-being. We celebrate diversity, an inclusive learning environment, and respect for others as important components in developing global citizens. We believe in putting students first, always. We believe in inspiring and challenging our students through a curriculum that encourages them to create, problem-solve, to know that they are each smart in different ways, to promote deep thinking, and to anchor and launch future learning.

Why Choose Bedford Central School District?

Families choose BCSD for its student-centered approach, strong academic programs, student-teacher ratios that allow for individual attention, inclusive culture, and strategic focus on future-ready skills.
