  • In ELA and Math, students are performing at the highest level for BCSD in 10+ years
  • BCSD students continue to outperform the New York State average in every single grade level for ELA
  • ELA proficiency has risen from 46% in 2013 to 62% in 2025
  • There has been a 20 percentage point gain in Math scores since implementing Bridges
  • BCSD received visits from neighboring districts to learn from our implementation process with new literacy and match curriculum

2025 Summary of Findings

  • BCSD grades 3-8 continue to perform above the state average in ELA, math & science
  • BCSD grades 3-8 ELA proficiency had a 6.5%, improvement, the largest growth we’ve seen in five years. This positive trend coincides with the first year of our new K-5 ELA curriculum implementation
  • Grades 5 science and grade 8 Earth Science are showing an upward trajectory
  • BCSD grades 9-12 students continue to perform above the state average on Regents exams
  • Steady 88% proficiency performance (score 3+) on AP exams
  • Highest graduation rate at 94% for 5-year August 2025 cohort

Next Steps

  • Focus on sustaining ELA and Math gains
  • Examine ways to support continued improvements in grades 5 & 8 Science
  • Grades 6-8 ELA curriculum analysis and grades 6-8 math curriculum pilot underway
  • Examine new NYSED Graduation measures to ensure K-12 curriculum & instruction alignment
