    Family Reach Club will have our first meeting on Thursday, September 19th in A316.  We will elect officers and talk about our first event, the Color Run.  All are welcome.  A light snack will be served 


    The “Girls Soccer Team” has created an apparel STORE that will be open for ANYONE to use.  If you are in need of FLHS apparel, please see the link below.  The store will be open until 9/20/19.

    Fox Read: curious? Did you read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time this summer?  Now you can join a discussion at one of the local libraries.  There are many types of events using the book as a starting point. For example there is an art discussion, a math discussion, and a creative writing workshop.  There are also performances of the stage adaptation of the novel with a discussion to follow.  The final event is a film at the Bedford Playhouse. If you have not read the novel yet, you can get a copy at your local library or in the English Department office. For questions email Mr. Albano at dalbano0010@bcsdny.org.

    Writing Retreat applications are now available from your English teacher or see Diane Sarna in A-301. There are only 25 spots on a first come, first serve basis, so get your application in quickly!  


    Writing Club meets Mondays in room A-301 beginning Monday, September 16!



    AFS International Club meets Tuesdays in room A-301 beginning Tuesday, September 17.  Come learn about other cultures, try foods from around the world, get information on how to become an international exchange student, meet local exchange students and more!



    The Class of 2022 has opened their Class Gear webstore.  It will be open until Sept 19th.  Ordered gear will be in by October 8th, in time for Spirit week/homecoming,

    Volunteer for a greener school community. The Garden and Sustainability club needs environmentally minded students who love to play in the dirt.  We meet each week on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the school garden (west side of school, near field hockey field). For info contact student leader Natanya Stark or see information on Mr. Albano’s teacher page under Sustainability and Garden.




    Bridges to Community, the service trip to the Dominican Republic, will  have an informational meeting for all students interested on Thursday, September 26 at 2:30 p.m. in A212.  All previous and new members can attend.  We will discuss the trip and distribute applications for the trip.  If you are interested in going on this spring break service trip, it is very important to attend.  For questions see Mrs. Sarna in the English, Mrs. Halpern in ESoL, or go to Mr. Albano's teacher page and click on the Bridges to Community page.     Freshmen!  It is time to get involved and be an important part of your class.  Please find attached the job description of a freshmen class officer and the application.  The application and candidate statement are due to the guidance office by Tuesday, September 17th.  If you have any questions, please email or see Mrs. Emery.

    LifeTouch/Prestige Portraits will be here for the THIRD time in November to take photos of seniors.  

    •         See the postcard mailed to the student’s home for options.  
    •         The postcards have detailed information about your senior’s portrait sittings.  Please confirm the appointment (at "prestigeportraits.com") using the Confirmation Code on the postcards.  This tells the photographer that your child will be showing up and they will be able to process the student more quickly.  There is a $20 sitting fee for the basic sitting.  You can request a refund from LifeTouch if you do not want to order a package of photos and if you return your proof set which will be mailed to you.

    Students in grades 10 + 11 will have their portraits taken during PE class the week of September 23rd.   Whichever days are the PE days will be the days when the portrait will be done.  It might be the first or second PE day of that week.
