A Message from Mrs. Mary Harrison, FLMS Principal

On behalf of the entire Fox Lane Middle School community, I welcome you to our school website. This is the place where you can find information about our school and the outstanding professionals that serve our students every day.

I am excited to begin my second year as the Principal of Fox Lane Middle school.  We are welcoming a new Assistant Principal to West House, Mr. Tim Montalvo and our administrative team has been working this summer to ensure a smooth start to the 2022-2023 school year.  We are looking forward to a fantastic year filled with immense joy around learning.

Fox Lane Middle School is the first place in the Bedford Central School district where students come together from five elementary schools to join one academic community.  Our goal is to allow them freedom to pursue their academic passions while nurturing any of their social or emotional  needs.  Their learning takes place in the classrooms, gyms, music and art spaces as they work in small groups to discover the meaning of more academically complex material and begin to discover their passions for learning.

At the heart of Fox Lane Middle school are the three houses - East, South and West - where students spend their three years of middle school.  Within each house, students are put on a grade level team and guided by teachers who work to meet the students’ social and academic needs.  In addition, students spend a portion of their day with content specialists in the visual arts, world language, physical education and music where they attend classes with students from across the grade level.  We believe that our middle school structure is the best way to ensure both the academic and social emotional success of our students.

I am honored and privileged to work with a faculty and staff that chose to be middle school educators because of our students' unique, engaging, and complex personalities. Our parent community is very supportive of the school and we are grateful for their belief in our work. The home-school connection is one that we respect.

Please take time to visit this website periodically as updates will occur on a regular basis. If you would like to visit the school or receive more information, please feel free to email or call.
