Welcome to Pound Ridge Elementary School!
On behalf of the Pound Ridge Elementary School community, I welcome you to our school website. Here you will find important information about our school, our programs, and resources that will help you gain a better understanding of the teaching and learning taking place at PRES. We are one of five K-5 elementary schools in the Bedford Central School District. Nestled in the woods of the hamlet of Pound Ridge, we work hard to build a sense of community through our annual traditions, high quality instructional program, and attention to the individual child. At PRES, our faculty and staff are dedicated to helping each individual student reach his or her greatest potential. We celebrate the whole child, as we develop the social-emotional, behavioral, and academic learning needs of our students.
Throughout the PRES community, we promote a philosophy of C.A.R.E. This school motto teaches the students about the importance of Cooperation, Accountability, Respect, and Effort. Monthly assemblies, community building activities, and classroom discussions all help us to build a common language around a shared vision for our students’ personal and social development.
Our PRES PTA and parent volunteers are an integral part of the success of our school community. Through special programs, visiting authors, book fairs, and family events, our PTA help to enhance the instructional program at PRES. We work with parents as partners to support all students in the learning process. Please visit the PRES PTA link to learn more about how to get involved in the PTA.

Involve me, I will understand.”
