On behalf of the entire school community, I'd like to welcome you to West Patent Elementary School! This website will help you find important information about our close-knit school community, strong academic programs, exciting enrichment opportunities, and various school events. At WPES, we are incredibly proud to have been recognized as a National School of Character in October, 2017 and redesignated in May, 2022. Please visit our Character Education page to learn about OMODE , Our Character Education Initiative.

We are dedicated to creating exciting and authentic educational experiences for our students.  Our curriculum supports student choice, inquiry, discovery, and rigor as we delve deeply into literacy, mathematics, science and social studies. Our PE, Art and Music programs are developed to engage students in a creative, collaborative and individualized way. Our Learning Garden, STEM, technology initiatives, and Enrichment for All programs are student-centered, inquiry-based learning environments that stimulate and excite our learners. 

Our parent-school partnership is vital in creating a caring, nurturing, and challenging learning environment for our children. WPES thrives on the support of WPESA, our Parent-Teacher Association. Through this partnership, our students benefit from experiences that enrich and extend the curriculum, both in and outside of our school building.
