Traditional Class Instruction
  • Parents/guardians of Kindergarten students will select the DLBE or a traditional program for their rising first-grade child by a deadline determined by the Superintendent of Schools, for the 2019-20 school year, the deadline is February 15, 2019.

During an MKES student's Kindergarten year, several evening informational sessions are held for families to help them learn about the Dual Language Bilingual Education (DLBE) program at MKES. Parents who choose not to enroll their child in DLBE will be provided a traditional elementary program for their children.

MKES home school students at all grade levels whose parents/guardians DO NOT select DLBE may be rezoned to attend another BCSD elementary school, should there be fewer than two reasonably-sized traditional classes at MKES. This determination shall be made based upon procedures set forth in Board of Education Policy #7150 - DLBE School of Choice at MKES.

For any traditional classes held at MKES, the MKES administration and faculty work hard to ensure all children have an academically and socially positive and productive elementary school experience.
