- Regionalization Update: Dr. Glass
- BOCES is requesting district participation in regionalization efforts
- There is a strategic question of whether to join the initiatives now during the formation stage or wait; a preference for being involved early to help shape the structure and secure potential state funding, rather than being compelled to join a completed system later
- Concerns were raised about the potential for these new systems to be challenging
- Despite the risks and communication issues, the potential benefits are seen as significant. It was noted that new services offered at a regional level "could be a game changer" for the district.
- No final decision was made to commit to or decline participation in the regionalization programs; more discussion at the October 8th meeting
- Bond Update: Phase 2a - Elementary School ReBid- Informational Item for Input to Construction Subcommittee
- The bid for the remaining portion of Phase 2 of the bond project, specifically for the elementary schools, came in almost double the construction manager's estimate
- The board agreed to not accept the current bids and authorized the construction manager to proceed with instructions for a re-bidding process
- The construction manager will proceed with instructions to remove the identified items from the project scope for the re-bid and provide new, accurate cost estimates;
- The board will review the final bid package in a future meeting before approving it for submission.
- Compliance-related projects, including ADA and abatement work, will be managed by Steve Thompson.
