πŸš€ Preschool to Kindergarten: The CPSE to CSE Journey

Presenters: Tara Caglione and Kristina Carofano

Transitioning from preschool special education to Kindergarten is a big step! This session is designed specifically for parents of children currently in CPSE who will be entering our schools in the Fall of 2026. The CPSE to CSE process will be explained, including what happens during the transition meeting. The continuum of supports available in Kindergarten will also be discussed. 

πŸŽ’ Moving Up: Elementary to Middle School Transition

Presenters: Michele Zaino, Tim Montalvo, and Amanda Gerber

Middle school marks a shift in academics and independence. This session is encouraged for parents of 4th and 5th grade students to prepare for the move to Fox Lane Middle School. We will discuss the full spectrum of special education services and supports (the 'continuum of services') available specifically at the middle school level. Building leaders will be present to answer your questions about the unique social, emotional, and academic aspects of middle school life.

πŸŽ“ Preparing for High School: Middle School to High School Transition

Presenters: Deana Longden, Margaret Browning and Kristy Emery

The high school years are important for preparing for life after graduation. This session is encouraged for parents of 7th and 8th grade students who are preparing to enter Fox Lane High School. We will explore the comprehensive continuum of special education services and accommodations available at Fox Lane High School. Building leaders will be present to discuss the high school environment. 

πŸ—ΊοΈ Life After Graduation: Post-Secondary Transition Planning

Presenter: Jennifer Maryyanek

This session is open to all parents (K-12) who want to look ahead and understand the planning involved for life after a student exits high school. Parents are encouraged to attend to learn more about this important stage. Various agencies, programs, and government services (ACCES-VR, OPWDD, SSI) and the availability to support young adults with disabilities after graduation will be covered. Transition planning, college supports, vocational training, and independent living will also be included.
