Fox Lane High School Announces 2020 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Fox Lane High School is proud to announce Valedictorian Kenneth G. Poor and Salutatorian Valeriy A. Donchev for the Class of 2020.
Kenneth will attend Princeton University in the fall and plans to pursue Electrical Engineering. Valeriy will head to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he plans to study Aerospace Engineering.
Both students were part of the Science Olympiad team and note it as one of their proudest accomplishments at Fox Lane. Kenneth is honored to have participated on the team, which qualified for the state competition all four years. Valeriy is most proud of placing among the top 10 for each of the four events, including two first places.
Kenneth was also a member of the tennis team and spent a summer working with graduate students in an Engineering Lab at Michigan State. He is excited to meet new people, explore a new town, take a wide variety of classes and tackle new challenges at college. He recognizes his mother as the most influential person in his life as she always believes in and supports him.
In addition to the Science Olympiad team, Valeriy notes his performance in the student-directed play for his freshman acting class as a highlight of his time at Fox Lane. He credits his father for always encouraging him to push himself and pursue projects that both affect his life and help him to explore his passions. He looks forward to exploring the possibilities of improving the world through engineering.
We are immensely proud of these outstanding students and cannot wait to see where their paths take them.
