Fox Lane Middle Schoolers "Escape the Vape"

students work to solve puzzle during Escape the Vape escape room activity

Throughout the month of November, the Student Assistance Counselors and their Youth 2 Youth club helped raise student awareness about the negative impact that tobacco, smokeless tobacco, and nicotine have on youth and their health.

Last week, Middle School Student Assistance Counselor Annemarie Feddeck, High School Student Assistance Counselor Angela Alvarado and Youth 2 Youth students visited 7th and 8th grade health classes to participate in an activity called Escape the Vape. Similar to an escape room, Escape the Vape provided a series of clues and puzzles for students to solve as they learned about the negative impacts of vaping on youth and how to use refusal skills with their peers.
